Jason Sadang

I grew up on Maui, Hawaii, where my love for volleyball began at an early age. I competed in the Junior Olympics in 1984 and 1985, finishing in the top four both years, and was honored to be named a Hawaii All-State Volleyball Player during my junior and senior years of high school.

After high school, I attended BYU–Hawaii, where I played and later served as an assistant coach for the men’s volleyball program under Coach Navalta, learning from one of the most successful coaching staffs in collegiate volleyball.

In 1996, I became the head coach at Kamehameha Schools Maui, where our program won 10 consecutive Maui Interscholastic League championships. In 2000, I founded Hawaii Encore Volleyball Club, which quickly became one of the nation’s top clubs, with multiple teams earning top-20 national finishes. I later continued my coaching education while training under NJCAA champion coach Jennifer Stadler at Sheridan College.

After moving to Utah in 2015, I coached at Club Union, where my teams consistently found success, including a national runner-up finish with my 15U team in 2017. I later founded Northern Elite Volleyball Academy (NEVA) and was honored to serve as Assistant Director for 435 Elite Volleyball, helping strengthen its coaching systems and player development over three seasons.

For more than 30 years, I’ve been passionate about developing athletes both on and off the court. I believe great coaching is about building confidence, teaching strong fundamentals, and creating a culture where players are challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.
