Bio
Girls Volleyball Program Manager
I was raised in San Diego CA, there I grew a passion for Beach Volleyball when a family friend took me to Mission Beach to play when I was 14 years old. In addition to Volleyball, I played Football and competed in Track and Field all four years of High School. It wasn’t until I joined the Air Force in 1997 that I first played indoor. Since then, I have played recreationally and competitively in the US, Europe, and Asia.
COACHING PHILOSOPHY:
I began coaching youth volleyball in 2015 while stationed in South Carolina. This will
be my second-year coaching with Vortex. I am a life-long learner in my personal,
professional, and coaching life. As a coach my goal is to share that passion with my
athletes. I believe sports should help develop athletes on and off the court, to support
this in the past I have assigned team readings, motivational and sport specific videos
to athletes to drive our growth. Teamwork, sportsmanship, hard work and respect for
the game are attributes my athletes are expected to embrace, when they do, we can
focus on improving as a team with a positive attitude allowing us to enjoy the game
together!
HOBBIES:
Although Volleyball is tops, I enjoy cooking, hiking, watching movies, traveling
and strolls on the beach listening to the cool melodic sounds of Kenny G.
