Bio
Hi! My name is Paola Osorio Diodonet. I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and I’m bilingual in Spanish and English. I started playing volleyball back home, where I competed for several clubs including Gigantes de Carolina, Lomanview Volleyball, Pitirres de Guaynabo, Guaynabo Mets, and Borinquen Coquí. I’ve played as a Middle for 18 years, including a year of college volleyball before an injury took me off the court for a bit. I still play competitively with Hill AFB, keeping my passion for the game alive.
This is my first year coaching, and over the past few months, I’ve had the privilege of working with Vortex Club Prep, assisting with Advanced Prep and pre-season training, and even coaching at a Nike Volleyball Camp. It’s been an incredible experience watching athletes grow, gain confidence, and achieve their goals—whether that’s making their school team or shining at tryouts.
Outside the gym, I work as a Computer Scientist on base, where I bring the same problem-solving mindset and focus on growth that I use in coaching.
As a bilingual coach, I also make sure my athletes feel supported and protected when communicating with Spanish- or English-speaking refs and teams. My goal is to build a positive, inclusive environment where players can grow, compete, and fall in love with volleyball the same way I did.
