I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Vortex this year! My journey in volleyball started years ago playing club volleyball at High Country. I literally grew up in the gym because my amazing mom coached and taught for almost 40 years! I was lucky enough to have her as my high school volleyball coach and both my mom and dad coached me in basketball.
I played at Viewmont High School where our incredible team won back-to-back state championships. This success led to me being named Utah’s Gatorade Player of the Year twice—a huge testament to my amazing teammates.
My playing career continued on the national stage with the U.S. Junior National Team, which took me as far as competing in Turkey. I began my collegiate career playing for two seasons at the University of Utah. During those summers, I also had the opportunity to play with USA’s Collegiate National Team for a couple of years. I then transferred to the University of Washington to finish my college career, where our team came within a few points of making the Final Four. Following college, I was invited to train with the U.S. Women’s National Team before deciding to play professionally for four seasons. 3 seasons in Puerto Rico and 1 in Switzerland. Currently, I enjoy competing at a high level in sand volleyball, as it’s much easier on my body and a great workout.
I have a deep passion for coaching and developing athletes. I’ve coached countless camps, clinics, private lessons, and club. For over a decade, I also coached at Davis High School alongside my mom, where we were fortunate enough to win a state championship with a truly special group of young ladies. I currently coach a 12u Club Prep program at Vortex because my daughter is now old enough and has shown interest in the sport, and I’m excited to share this incredible game with her!
When I’m not on the court, I’ve been happily married to my wonderful husband, Jordan, for 12 years, and we have three beautiful girls. My favorite quote is: “Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives—choice, not chance, determines your destiny.” – Aristotle I look forward to helping athletes at Vortex learn the game and find their own passion for volleyball.
